Hello Again…By: Mauro | July 21st, 2010
Alright enough with the back and forth, the hemming and hawing. I’m finally back.
Maybe because it’s been long enough, or I’ve run out of excuses, or I’ve truly missed the late nights with 4 match reviews followed by 4 match reports or maybe it’s because I’ve caught World Cup fever but really? I don’t think it matters. Did you miss me? Maybe not. But we’re both here so let’s try this again. Shall we?
For those of you who haven’t followed in the past or don’t know me, I’m Mauro and I’ve been following the Copa Libertadores for as long as I can remember. Since before they showed highlights here in the US on either Telemundo or Univision. Since back when I got just a graphic with some scores at the end of the terrible newscast or was able to check the scores in in fine print at the back of the LA Times every other day.
That’s how long. Seriously.
But now we’re all completely spoiled. Complete matches can be caught online and you have to hide from the world in order to be able to watch a recorded match on your DVR without hearing the result when you get home from work. And with the globalization of soccer, we can all stay abreast of almost any situation in any country.
So, in my opinion, what’s needed is a fresh, original perspective or opinion and that’s (hopefully) where I come in.
So come on in and sit down. Let’s try to figure out what happens from this point forward in this competition, maybe pick some winners here or there or have a good discussion. This page isn’t anything without your participation.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you guys and your opinions about the football being played in South America, post World Cup and all that.
