Half-strength Audax tremble as Sao Paulo comes to town.
By: Mauro | April 9th, 2008Audax Italiano vs. Sao Paulo FC (Estadio Nacional, Santiago, Chile)

Audax will start this match without many of their starters, one of which is Audax’s best player, Carlos Villanueva. Renzo Yañez and Uruguayan Marcelo Broli will also not be able to feature for Audax. Still the attitude in their camp is one of optimism and opportunity. The sacrifice made by these smaller clubs is enormous since they don’t have larger squads to be able to defend themselves in two tournaments and this is the case here with Audax.
Sao Paulo also come dragging in a bit of luggage. It seems that Fabio Santos and Carlos Alberto got into to a bit of a tussle and as a result, club coach Muricy Ramalho separated these two players from the squad. The episode has created a bit of tension in the Sao Paulo camp. Still, we’ll see Adriano on the pitch again for Sao Paulo and it’s better to see him on the pitch than at a party with a bottle of Cachaca in his hand.
Bottom Line: From the get go i figured this was an opportunity for Sao Paulo to show that they’ve got the stones to win this tournament But now with the injuries to Audax’s squad, Sao Paulo MUST win this match in order to be taken seriously. My pick: 2-1 to Sao Paulo and only because Adriano saves their asses again. Audax don’t have the squad to compete tomorrow night.
