Don’t Miss Tonight’s Match.
By: Mauro | May 1st, 2008The geniuses at Fox Sports scheduled 5 matches yesterday when they were only able to broadcast two of them live and scheduled 1 today (That’s right ONE match for today) when they could have broadcast at least three or more live.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful they are broadcasting them at all, but really? One match? Whatever. At least the CONCACAF Champions Cup is over.
In any case, that one match is about to start in 30 minutes or so.
Just FYI.
You know, if you feel like it.
I’m stuck at work. I’ll be watching it later but following it online here.
So yeah, like I said, if you feel like it, 4:30pm PST on Fox Sports Español.
You know, it’s just a match.
Just 90 minutes of your life.
Whatever.
Check the CONMEBOL website for results, stats and upcoming matches.

FSE schedules these matches or CONMEBOL?

TV always schedules the matches in South America especially for the Libertadores. When Boca pleaded to change the time their match was played yesterday, CONMEBOL stepped aside and told Boca to talk to the people who own the TV rights for the Copa Libertadores. CONMEBOL Pres. Nicolas Leoz was quoted as saying that Tuesday.

ah. But Im sure Fox Sports in Argentina would show any South American match live instead of a Mexico one that is happening during the same time frame. FSE in the states plays to its fanbase in the states. Also, I doubt CONCACAF cup was even showed on the Fox Sports channels in South America. I might be wrong, however.

I wouldn’t doubt it. I know T y C owns the rights to televise football in Argentina. To the degree that no one can show highlights in Argentina of any Primera match, including the one on Friday night, until all the goals have been aired on Futbol de Primera which airs about one hour after the last match on Sunday is over in Argentina.
I bet that if you wanted to you could have watched the América-Flamengo match if you wanted to from Argentina but that would make you a little insane when you’ve got San Lorenzo-River Plate on at the same time on a different channel. The cable system in Argentina includes a lot of football from all over the world. However, they have limited coverage of Argentine Primera because they have blackouts so people will go to the stadium. We have more coverage of the matches here since we are out of market and T y C can charge more for the whole package.
I hear they can even watch the NBA live. I do believe that Fox Sports owns the rights to the Copa Libertadores but don’t quote me.
