In 2000, Boca lost 3-1 in the first leg at the Estadio Azteca against América but Boca turned it around on them in the second leg and won 4-1 in La Bombonera.

In 2001, again in the Azteca, Boca won the first leg against Cruz Azul, 1-0. They lost the return leg at home by 1-0 and won on penalties.

In April of 2005, Boca lost again at the Estadio Hidalgo against Pachuca, 3-0.

In June of 2005, Boca lost, 4-0, against Chivas at the Estadio Jalisco, site of tonight’s match, and drew 0-0 in the second leg and were eliminated.

In December of 2005, Boca drew with Pumas, 1-1, in the first leg and then 0-0 in the second leg. They won the Copa Sudamericana on penalties.

In April of 2007, Toluca beat Boca 2-0 and earlier in this tournament, Atlas beat Boca 3-1.

One thing to consider is that Boca have never had to close out a tie on foreign soil against a Mexican club. This one is for all the marbles and I still think that Boca advance tonight.
